Ramallah, Aug. 13 (Petra) -- Israeli occupation forces demolished Thursday 20 seasonal farmer dwellings in the Al-Makhrouq area of Al-Jiftlik village, north of Jericho and the Jordan Valley.

Al-Jiftlik Village Council Head Firas Jahalin said in a statement that occupation forces bulldozers demolished about 20 structures built of plastic sheeting, zinc panels and cement, including three inhabited homes.

All were used seasonally by farmers who come to the area each September to work the land, tend crops and secure supplies needed for the season, he added.

Jahalin said that Israeli forces have also issued demolition notices for around 40 permanent shelters belonging to livestock owners in the al-Daisat community in al-Jiftlik.
