Madaba, Aug. 12 (Petra) -- The Madaba Institute for Mosaic Art and Restoration (MIMAR) celebrated the graduation of a new cohort of students on Wednesday under the patronage of Madaba Governor Hassan Al-Jbour, representing the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities.

Al-Jbour said Madaba stands as the primary city of mosaics and a cradle of civilizations, noting that it receives close attention from His Majesty King Abdullah II for its historical role in preserving the art form across ages. He added that mosaic art represents an integral part of Madaba's tourism and religious identity.

Dean of the Institute Ahmad Al-Amayreh said the graduates carry forward the legacy of mosaic art as a global heritage and a defining mark of successive civilizations, reaffirming the institute's pride in upholding Jordan's historical mission in mosaic creation and restoration.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Al-Jbour presented certificates and awards to outstanding students, while the institute presented commemorative shields to members of its Board of Trustees: Chairman of the Greater Madaba Municipal Committee Haitham Jweinat, Chairman of the Madaba Governorate Council Committee Hussam Odeh, and Bassam Al-Tawal.
