23/ Jordan wins 5 medals at Arab Youth Chess Championship
Amman, August 11 (Petra) - Jordan's national chess team secured 5 medals: 1 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze, at the Arab Youth Chess Championship hosted in Egypt. Jeda Helal clinched the gold medal in the girls’ under-14 category, scoring 8 out of 9 possible points. In the girls’ under-20 division, Ruba Qudah earned silver with 8.5 points out of 9, finishing tied for first before losing the top spot in a tie-breaker match. Meanwhile, Karam Ejeilat took home silver in the boys’ under-14 category with 7 points. The team’s 2 bronze medals went to Anas Khwaira in the boys’ under-20 competition with 6 points, and Talia Helal in the girls’ under-12 event with 7 points. //Petra// HA
