14/ Central Bank Opens Applications for 12 University Scholarships
Amman, Aug. 11 (Petra) – The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) Tuesday announced applications are open for its 12 scholarships for recruitment purposes, designated for top-performing students in the 2026 General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi), as each governorate is allocated 1 scholarship. In a statement, the CBJ said the scholarships will support students pursuing bachelor’s degrees at Jordanian public universities in economics, statistics, accounting, and finance specialties, starting in the first semester of the 2026/2027 academic year. As for eligibility criteria, applicants must be Jordanian nationals and graduates of the 2026 Tawjihi academic stream, with an average of at least 95 percent. They must also meet the admission requirements for one of the covered majors under the applicable university admission criteria. The CBJ said students who obtained foreign secondary school certificates in 2026 may also apply, adding that their certificates must be officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and their average is at least 95 percent. Applicants must have completed their final two academic years at a school located in the same governorate of application and must not be older than 19 as of August 11, marking the date of the scholarship announcement. Additionally, applicants must have no felony or misdemeanor convictions involving honor, integrity, public morals, or ethics, and must not be receiving another scholarship or be sponsored under another study program. Applicants must submit an unconditional admission letter from the educational institution they will attend, with admission to the regular program rather than the parallel program. The CBJ urged eligible students to complete the online application through its website from Tuesday until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25. It added that applications will be subject to the relevant terms and conditions published on its website, including the bank’s policy governing employment relationships among relatives. //Petra// AO
