Madaba, Aug. 9 (Petra) -- The German Jordanian University (GJU) announced scholarships for its bachelor's program in translation (German-English-Arabic) for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Offered by Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, the package is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service.

In its announcement on Sunday, the GJU said scholarships target students from Jordan and neighboring countries seeking to enroll in the university's translation program.

Applicants must meet a minimum high school average of 70% to qualify.

As for stipends, the scholarship provides a total of 2,500 euros annually, paid in two installments, to help cover tuition fees at the German Jordanian University.

It can be renewed yearly based on academic performance, provided the student maintains a cumulative average above 80 percent and funding remains available.

Special scholarships are also available for the year students spend in Germany, which includes an academic semester and practical training, the university said, adding that this component strengthens their international academic experience.

Selection will be based on high school averages, a motivation letter, a personal interview and a proficiency test in English and Arabic, the GJU said. Interviews and tests will be held in early September at the university's campus in Madaba.
