44/ Culture Ministry launches children's creativity camp in Ajloun

Amman, Aug. 5 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Culture, through its Children's Culture Directorate, launched a three-day creativity camp for children in Ajloun on Wednesday aimed at fostering creativity, strengthening national identity, and introducing participants to Jordan's intangible cultural heritage.

According to a ministry statement, the camp, titled "Memory of the Land and the People," brings together gifted children from across the kingdom and seeks to deepen their connection to Jordan's national identity and narrative through a series of interactive programs and workshops.

The opening session introduced participants to the concept of the Jordanian national narrative and highlighted the importance of national identity in strengthening a sense of belonging. It also focused on the role of children in preserving the country's cultural heritage and passing Jordan's story on to future generations to reinforce pride in the nation's cultural identity.

The first day's program included several creative workshops, notably "Draw My Story and My Place," in which children expressed their perspectives on nature and their surroundings through art. Participants also took part in a recycling and sustainable arts workshop designed to encourage creativity while promoting sustainability through the use of recycled materials to produce artworks inspired by Jordan's environment and heritage.

The three-day camp features a range of cultural, artistic, and interactive activities intended to develop children's talents, strengthen their creative abilities, encourage innovation and teamwork, and deepen their sense of belonging and pride in Jordan's cultural identity, in line with the Ministry of Culture's efforts to support gifted children and nurture their creative potential.
