Amman, August 5 (Petra) - The Royal Film Commission (RFC) announced Wednesday that submissions are now open for its Short Film Script Development Award, held as part of the 5th Jordan Children and Youth’s Film Festival.

The grant provides cash awards to help filmmakers turn story treatments into production-ready short film scripts tailored for children and youth.

Designed to enrich regional media with authentic content, the initiative prioritizes original narrative and animated projects rooted in local culture, everyday experiences, and community values.

To qualify, applicants must be Jordanian filmmakers submitting concepts for short narrative or animated films. Submissions require a detailed treatment written in present-tense narrative prose that outlines the central plot, key characters, and dramatic conflict. Treatments must be written in Arabic and adhere to a two-page maximum in Microsoft Word using 14-point Calibri font. Final scripts must follow standard screenwriting formatting.

Interested filmmakers must submit their director CV, project logline, synopsis, creative vision statement, and two-page treatment by August 17.
