25/ Royal directives boost Jordan's crisis preparedness, Policy Dialogue Forum chief says

Amman, August 5 (Petra) - Directives issued by His Majesty King Abdullah II to strengthen Jordan’s energy and food security serve as a national roadmap for comprehensive security and proactive crisis management, said Hamid Batayneh, head of the Jordan Forum for Policy Dialogue.

Following a government follow-up meeting chaired by the King, Batayneh noted that national security extends beyond border protection to encompass food, energy, water, economic, and cyber security.

Batayneh emphasized that rapidly shifting regional and global dynamics require the Kingdom to reinforce its risk management systems, build strategic reserves, and accelerate institutional efficiency to protect uninterrupted public services.

He highlighted the deep interconnectedness of food, water, and energy security as fundamental pillars of national resilience.

Achieving long-term stability requires a joint national effort combining the resources of the government, private sector, civil society, universities, and media, Batayneh added.

He underlined the forum's commitment to supporting national policy through research-driven initiatives and urged institutions to translate royal directives into actionable programs that foster sustainable development and strengthen state resilience.
