  5/ FM, Bahraini counterpart discuss ties, region 

Amman, Apr. 30 (Petra)-- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi held a phone call on Thursday with Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments as part of ongoing coordination and consultation between the two countries.

During the call, Safadi and Al Zayani affirmed their commitment to strengthening the deep-rooted, fraternal ties between Jordan and Bahrain across various fields, in a way that serves the interests of both kingdoms and their peoples.

The two ministers also discussed the repercussions of the dangerous escalation in the region, as well as efforts aimed at building on the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran to reach a sustainable solution that addresses all underlying causes of past tensions, while respecting international law, state sovereignty, and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

They further reviewed a number of regional and international issues, along with ongoing efforts to cement security and stability.
