3/ Ajloun Officials: Workers Cornerstone of Sustainable Development
Ajloun, April 30 (Petra)-- Experts and officials in Ajloun Governorate affirmed that workers are the cornerstone of driving economic and social development, highlighting their significant contributions across various productive and service sectors. They stressed that workers’ roles go beyond carrying out daily tasks to becoming true partners in building society and enhancing sustainable development. They noted that Ajloun, with its vital sectors such as tourism, agriculture, and handicrafts, relies heavily on the efforts of workers who contribute to developing these sectors and creating added value for the local economy. They added that celebrating workers reflects society’s appreciation of their vital role, promotes a culture of work and productivity, and reinforces values of belonging and national responsibility. Director of Ajloun Labor Directorate, Shaher Al-Jarrah, said that supporting workers and improving their living conditions, along with providing a safe and healthy work environment, directly contributes to increasing productivity and achieving economic stability. He emphasized the importance of investing in their continuous training and qualification to keep pace with evolving labor market demands. Director of Ajloun Development Directorate, Ali Bani Amer, underscored the importance of strengthening economic and social empowerment programs for workers to enhance their efficiency, improve their living standards, and support their active participation in the comprehensive development process. Head of Ajloun Chamber of Commerce and former MP, Arab Al-Sumadi, highlighted the pivotal role of the private sector in supporting workers and providing sustainable job opportunities, stressing the need to strengthen partnerships among various stakeholders to create a motivating and productive work environment. Journalist Khaled Farihat called for intensifying official and community efforts to support this important segment of society and to provide comprehensive social protection that guarantees their rights and stability, thereby sustaining their contributions.
