14/ Social Development Ministry explores cooperation with Maestral International

Amman, April 29 (Petra) -- Social Development Minister Wafa Bani Mustafa on Wednesday discussed with Founder and President of Maestral International Philip Goldman prospects of cooperation across a range of social programs.

The minister reviewed efforts to strengthen Jordan’s social protection system through an institutional and integrated approach to achieve a sustainable and positive impact for target groups.

She outlined services for persons with disabilities, including expanded alternative care options, early intervention programs, inclusive day services, and family-based integration.

The minister also highlighted programs supporting economic empowerment for the most vulnerable families, as part of a comprehensive response designed to shift beneficiaries from aid dependence to productivity and employment.

On child welfare, Bani Mustafa underscored ongoing efforts to enhance child protection systems and case management, develop alternative care policies, and improve services in juvenile care centers.

These include vocational training, extracurricular activities, psychosocial support, and capacity-building for social workers.

She commended the organization’s role in shared priority areas and stressed the importance of expanding partnerships in child protection, family empowerment, and social protection systems to support national efforts and improve services for vulnerable groups.

For his part, the head of Maestral International, a global consulting firm that helps governments build stronger, more equitable systems for children and adolescents, commended the ministry’s efforts in delivering programs for target groups and expressed interest in expanding future cooperation in key social sectors.
