7/ PM Orders Expansion of Community Projects, School Upgrades During Wadi Al-Seer Visit

Amman, April 28 (Petra) - Prime Minister Jafar Hassan on Tuesday toured the Wadi Al-Seer district to oversee the progress of local development projects and address service gaps in the Iraq Al-Amir region.

The Prime Minister’s engagement began at the Iraq Al-Amir Women’s Cooperative Society, where he reviewed the society’s specialized workshops for traditional ceramics, weaving, and recycled paper.

Acknowledging the cooperative’s success in empowering local women since 2001, Hassan directed the Jordan Cooperative Corporation to eliminate logistical barriers preventing their products from reaching major commercial outlets. He emphasized that the government is committed to transforming such grassroots successes into sustainable economic engines.

In the educational sector, the Prime Minister inspected the Iraq Al-Amir Mixed Secondary School to evaluate its current infrastructure. Noting the needs of the 600-student facility, he ordered an immediate comprehensive maintenance program and the expansion of school facilities.

Hassan also singled out the "Cleanliness Ambassador" program for praise; speaking with Education Minister Azmi Mahafzah, he noted that this student-led environmental initiative serves as a model of civic responsibility that should be standardized across the Kingdom’s public schools.

To resolve local healthcare bottlenecks, the Prime Minister visited the Iraq Al-Amir primary clinic. Recognizing the transport challenges faced by residents, Hassan, alongside Health Minister Ibrahim Al-Bdour, mandated the establishment of a permanent shuttle service starting next week. This service will link patients to the Al-Bassa Comprehensive Health Center, ensuring the community has consistent access to specialized medical care and diagnostic services.
