46/ JMA, Saudi HMG discuss recruitment of Jordanian doctors
Amman, April 28 (Petra) -- The Jordan Medical Association (JMA) and the Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group (HMG) of Saudi Arabia held talks on Tuesday to strengthen cooperation regarding the recruitment of Jordanian physicians to work across the group's hospitals. The meeting, held in Amman, focused on building a strategic partnership to enhance the regional presence of Jordanian medical expertise and facilitate the exchange of clinical knowledge. JMA President Issa Al-Khashashneh stated that the association views this collaboration as a vital step in supporting the career development of Jordanian doctors. He emphasized that Jordanian medical staff maintain a prestigious regional and international reputation due to their high academic qualifications and advanced practical experience. The JMA is working to identify the specific specialties and levels of experience required by the Saudi group to align with current medical market demands. Dr. Mohammad Hassan Al-Tarawneh, a member of the JMA council, highlighted the need to streamline accreditation and licensing procedures. He specifically mentioned the importance of simplifying professional classification and degree equivalency processes according to Saudi Arabian regulations to ensure the swift and efficient recruitment of qualified professionals. The discussions also touched upon expanding opportunities for resident doctors. JMA council member Dr. Katiba Al-Rabadi called for opening more paths for Jordanian residents to join specialization programs in Saudi Arabia. She also advocated for reducing the financial burdens placed on doctors when signing employment contracts with private medical groups. Dr. Abdullah Harbash, head of the Saudi delegation, expressed the group’s deep appreciation for the caliber of Jordanian physicians already working within their facilities. He noted that Jordanian doctors have consistently demonstrated high professional performance and advanced clinical skills.
