39/ Army chief visits Special Communications Commission
Amman, April 28 (Petra) -- Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Hunaiti visited the Special Communications Commission (SCC) on Tuesday to review the latest advancements in military communications infrastructure and future development projects. During the visit, SCC Director General provided a comprehensive briefing on the commission’s current mandates, the technological sophistication of its ongoing projects, and strategic plans designed to keep pace with evolving modern requirements. Hunaiti, accompanied by senior army officers, emphasized the critical importance of upgrading military communications networks and maintaining high levels of readiness. He noted that a robust communications infrastructure is essential for the Jordanian Armed Forces to execute their duties with maximum efficiency. He further stressed the necessity of continuous training for personnel on the latest global systems to ensure rapid response and operational effectiveness under various conditions. The army chief toured the commission’s various departments and sections, where he was briefed on the technical operations and electronic services provided to both governmental and private entities. He also visited an exhibition showcasing modern communication equipment and advanced technologies designed to strengthen the military's communication framework. At the conclusion of the visit, Hunaiti praised the expertise of the SCC staff. He underscored the importance of leveraging international experience to enhance communication security and ensure the armed forces remain combat-ready at all times. Established in 1975, the Special Communications Commission is responsible for the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of military communication networks.
