27/ JPMC port lab gains international ISO accreditation
Amman, April 27 (Petra) -- The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) announced on Monday that its export port laboratory in Aqaba has received official accreditation from the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) for meeting international technical standards. The accreditation specifically recognizes the facility’s compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017, a global benchmark for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. The JSMO’s accreditation unit granted the certification following a rigorous evaluation of the laboratory’s technical and administrative protocols. The company says this achievement shows the facility meets high standards for accuracy and quality in its chemical analysis and testing. The mining company said the move is part of a broader strategy to bolster the reliability of export operations at the Aqaba phosphate terminal. By securing international recognition for its testing capabilities, JPMC aims to strengthen its competitive standing within the global mining and fertilizer sectors. The company added that the accreditation aligns with its long-term goals for sustainable development and operational excellence. It noted that the Aqaba export port already maintains several other international certifications, including ISO 9001 for quality management, as well as ISO 18001 and ISO 45001 for environmental and occupational health and safety standards. Management emphasized that these certifications collectively underscore the port’s commitment to integrating rigorous safety and environmental protections into its industrial workflow. //Petra// AF
