Abu Dhabi, April 26 (Petra) -- The United Arab Emirates has secured the top position globally in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) report, surpassing several of the world's leading advanced economies.

According to data released on Sunday, the UAE ranked first among high-income economies across eight key indicators, including physical infrastructure, government support and policy, and research and development transfer.

The report also highlighted the UAE’s leading position in market dynamics, ease of entry regarding regulations, and government entrepreneurship programs, reflecting a highly integrated environment for startups and new business ventures.

The Gulf state ranked second globally in entrepreneurial finance and ease of access to capital, signaling a robust financial ecosystem capable of sustaining emerging projects and fueling their expansion.

"We are proud that the UAE has taken the first spot globally in developing the entrepreneurship ecosystem, consolidating its position as the most supportive economy for entrepreneurs and the premier destination for establishing commercial activities," UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri said in a statement.

The UAE is one of only four countries to have met or exceeded the "sufficiency" threshold across all criteria of the National Entrepreneurship Context Index. This performance is underpinned by the nation's advanced digital readiness, infrastructure, and proactive government policies designed to foster innovation.
