Amman, Apr. 24 (Petra) – Around 70,000 worshipers performed Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif despite strict measures and restrictions imposed by Israeli occupation forces around the Old City and its gates.

The Islamic Awqaf Department in Jerusalem said that 70,000 worshipers performed Friday prayer at the holy site, according to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA).

Israeli occupation forces were heavily deployed across the streets of Jerusalem, particularly around the Old City and the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. They also installed iron barriers, stopped worshipers heading to the mosque, and checked their identification cards.
