10/ Aqaba Sees Rising Tourism Activity, Hotel Occupancy Reaches 87%

Aqaba, Apr. 24 (Petra) -- Commissioner for Tourism and Youth Affairs at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), Thabet Hassan Al-Nabulsi, said that Aqaba is witnessing growing tourism activity, supported by expanding partnerships with regional markets.

Al-Nabulsi noted that hotel occupancy rates in Aqaba reached 87 percent during last weekend’s holiday period, reflecting strong demand for the coastal city.

He explained that occupancy rates were distributed as follows: 92 percent for five-star hotels, 83 percent for four-star hotels, and 88 percent for three-star hotels.

He added that these indicators reflect the success of promotional efforts and the facilitation measures introduced to attract more visitors.

Al-Nabulsi also pointed to around 100 meetings held with travel agents and representatives of tourism companies from Arab communities inside Palestine, expressing expectations that this momentum will continue and hotel occupancy rates will rise further in the coming period.
