30/ House committee, Lebanese ambassador talk cooperation, region
Amman, April 22 (Petra) – The Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by MP Haitham Ziyadin, met on Wednesday with the Lebanese Ambassador to Jordan, Brigitte Tawk. Discussions focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations, reiterating the" deep brotherly" ties. According to a committee statement, Ziyadin called for developing joint cooperation in various fields, particularly in political and economic areas, to serve common interests and enhance the region's stability. The lawmaker urged continued coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern. Meanwhile, MP Iman Al-Abbasi called for unifying parliamentary efforts to support pan-Arab causes and strengthen joint action to address regional challenges, which would achieve security and stability. Additionally, the discussions went over several regional and international issues of mutual interest, as both sides urged dialogue and cooperation in addressing current challenges. For her part, Tawk affirmed the "pivotal" role of His Majesty King Abdullah II in promoting the region's stability, commending efforts of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi in supporting Arab causes. The diplomat expressed her gratitude and appreciation to Jordan for its continued support to Lebanon, particularly in the electricity supply project, stressing the importance of this cooperation in alleviating challenges facing the Lebanese people. //Petra// AG
