27/ Memo to enhance training, employment in pharmaceutical industry inked

Amman, April 20 (Petra) – The Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) and MS Pharma on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in training and employment, and support development of specialized skills in the pharmaceutical industry to align vocational training outcomes with labor market needs.

It was signed in the presence of VTC Director General Raafat Sawafin, and Samer Jalal, Executive Vice President for People, Culture, and Communications at MS Pharma, a multinational pharmaceutical company with headquarters in Amman.

This partnership aims to develop and accredit specialized training programs in the pharmaceutical industry. This includes overseeing the preparation of educational materials and setting technical specifications for training equipment to meet the needs of the local and international markets, the VTC said in a press release.

Spheres of cooperation also include practical and field training programs at the company's sites, training courses according to sector requirements, attracting target groups, and exchanging expertise to enhance the efficiency of training staff, it said.

The agreement also aims to support the employment of graduates from training programs within the pharmaceutical industry and promote the concept of dual training, which combines theoretical education with practical application in a real work environment. This contributes to preparing qualified staff capable of meeting the needs of the labor market, according to the statement.

Signing the memo is a qualitative leap in cooperation with the pharmaceutical sector, and it reflects the institution's commitment to building genuine strategic partnerships that translate into tangible training and employment program, commented Sawafins.

Jalal also said the partnership is a strategic step towards investing in human capital, and it reflects the institution's commitment to developing national competencies in line with the needs of the growing pharmaceutical sector.
