26/ ADC signs five-year deal to enhance security systems in Aqaba industrial zone
Aqaba, April 20 (Petra) -- The Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) on Monday signed an agreement with Rock for Security Services and Consultancy to operate and maintain security systems in the southern ports and industries area, in addition to managing electronic gate services for a five-year period extending through 2030. According to an ADC statement, the ADC Chief Executive Officer, Hussein Safadi, said the agreement is expected to generate approximately 134 direct job opportunities, in addition to indirect employment in maintenance and support services, contributing to local economic development and job stability. He pointed out that the agreement marks a strategic step toward strengthening the investment environment in Aqaba and reinforcing its position as a key industrial and logistics hub. He noted that the agreement covers the full operation and maintenance of integrated security systems in line with the highest public safety standards, as well as the regulation of entry and exit procedures through electronic gates to ensure efficient traffic flow and safeguard critical infrastructure, including energy, oil, and industrial facilities. Safadi said the Rock Company was selected based on its specialized expertise and operational track record, noting that it is fully owned by the Jordan Armed Forces and the Public Security Directorate. He added that the company’s workforce, composed of retired military and security personnel, demonstrated high levels of efficiency during a previous operational period spanning two and a half years. He added that the agreement reflects ADC’s commitment to adopting sustainable, technology-driven security solutions by integrating qualified human resources with advanced systems, including expanded surveillance camera networks and the implementation of a unified authorization system in coordination with the Jordan Armed Forces' Special Communications Commission. For his part, General Manager of the Rock Company, retired Major General Hassan Annab, said the agreement represents a key milestone reflecting the company’s credibility and the confidence placed in it by national institutions. He said the company will ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of security systems across the southern ports and industrial zone, focusing on operational readiness, rapid response, and the integration of human and technological capabilities to protect vital facilities and regulate access through electronic systems.
