12/ Senate President Meets Saudi, Omani Envoys on Ties, Regional Tensions
Amman, April 14 (Petra) -- Senate President Faisal Fayez on Tuesday met Saudi Ambassador Mansour Al Saud and Omani Ambassador Fahd Alojaili in separate meetings. During the two meetings, Fayez discussed relations and ways to strengthen them across various fields, in addition to the overall situation in the region. He expressed pride in the advanced level of Jordan’s ties with Saudi Arabia and Oman, describing them as historic and deeply rooted relations based on mutual respect, shared interests, and support for just Arab causes. The talks also addressed current developments related to the Iranian-American-Israeli war and its repercussions for regional and wider security and stability. Fayez said any expansion of war and conflict would lead to further chaos and destruction in the region. He said Jordan rejects Iranian attacks on Jordan and the Gulf states, noting that His Majesty King Abdullah II has affirmed that the security and stability of the Gulf states are an integral part of Jordan’s own security and stability, and that their stability underpins the stability of the region and the world. He added that His Majesty has called for an end to the war and for efforts to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable de-escalation that would help restore security, stability, and peace for all. The meetings also underscored the importance of continuing joint efforts to safeguard regional security and stability, protect Jordan and the Gulf states from any external attacks, and coordinate Arab efforts to confront the risks and challenges facing the region. //Petra// AO
