9/ Parkinson’s association joins global symposium, highlights patient challenges
Amman, April 13 (Petra) -- The Parkinson's Care Association – Jordan participated in an international scientific symposium organized by the BRC Foundation, bringing together leading experts and specialists in neurological diseases to advance awareness and exchange expertise on Parkinson’s disease management. According to a statement issued Monday, the Association’s Executive Director, Ayman Balbisi, delivered a presentation titled "Challenges Facing Parkinson’s Patients in Jordan," outlining the current status of patients in the Kingdom. Balbisi detailed key challenges, including limited access to specialized healthcare services, high treatment costs, and the need to strengthen rehabilitation and psychosocial support programs. He also reviewed the Association’s interventions aimed at addressing these gaps, including the provision of specialized clinics, community-based support initiatives, and awareness campaigns. The presentation further highlighted efforts to develop innovative solutions, notably telemedicine services, to enhance healthcare access and improve patients’ quality of life. The Association said its participation underscores the importance of international collaboration and knowledge exchange in addressing Parkinson’s disease, as well as the need to align efforts among healthcare and community institutions to deliver more comprehensive and sustainable services. It added that such engagements contribute to strengthening Jordan’s presence in international scientific forums and positioning it as an active partner in supporting Parkinson’s patients at both regional and global levels. //Petra// AJ
