8/ Military: Sounds of Explosions Linked to Interceptions Outside Borders
Amman, April 7 (Petra) -- The Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army on Tuesday said no missiles or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were intercepted over Jordanian territory in the past 24 hours, noting that sounds of explosions heard in the sky and debris falling in border areas were the result of interception operations carried out west of the Kingdom’s borders. In a joint statement with the Public Security Directorate, the Military Media Directorate said the Kingdom’s airspace and territory had not been directly targeted during the reporting period. The Public Security Directorate spokesperson said specialized teams from both the Armed Forces and Public Security responded to incidents involving falling debris and projectiles over the past 24 hours. The spokesperson added that authorities handled eight such incidents, including one injury in Aqaba Governorate. The injured individual received on-site medical assistance and was reported to be in good condition. The incidents also caused limited material damage in Aqaba and Karak governorates, the spokesperson said. //Petra// AJ
