14/ MoU signed to enhance entrepreneurship in Jordan's agricultural sector
Amman, April 2 (Petra) –Syndicate of Agricultural Materials Traders and Producers in Jordan (AMATPA) and the Agricultural Entrepreneurship and Agri-Innovation Association on Thursday signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoU) aimed at expanding joint collaboration horizons in the fields of agricultural entrepreneurship, innovation, and digital transformation. This "strategic" step reflects the national trend to support innovation and promote sustainable development. The memo, which was signed by the AMATPA head, Saleh Yassin, and the association's chairman, Dr. Imad Ayasrah, stems from joint awareness of the importance of integrating efforts among professional institutions. This integration contributes to building an "advanced" agricultural system to confront the increasing challenges facing the Kingdom's agricultural sector, mainly in climate change, market fluctuations, or food security requirements. Additionally, the memo focuses on implementing a "comprehensive set of high-quality" programs and initiatives aimed at supporting and empowering entrepreneurs and young people working in the agricultural sector. To achieve this goal, an appropriate environment will be provided to produce innovative ideas and entrepreneurial projects and promote a culture of self-employment in the agricultural field, which would open new horizons for job creation and achieving added value. Under the memo, a series of specialized events will be held, including agricultural forums, training workshops and programs, aimed at enhancing the worker efficiency in the sector to acquire modern skills related to agricultural technology, digital transformation, value chains, and agricultural marketing. Both sides called for exchanging expertise, knowledge, and technical resources to strengthen "institutional efficiency" and contribute to improving services provided to farmers and entrepreneurs. They also urged support for initiatives that would optimally use natural resources and achieve environmental and economic sustainability. //Petra// AG
