Amman, Sept 17 (Petra) – The Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF) at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, in cooperation with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA)'s Jordan Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) on Wednesday released its evaluation report for 2024–2025, aimed at supporting the development of sustainable energy policies in Jordan and enhancing energy efficiency. Ministry's Secretary-General Amani Al-Azzam said the report represents an important step toward strengthening renewable energy and energy efficiency programs in the kingdom. She noted that the fund serves as a national model for investing in clean energy systems and efficiency-improvement applications, helping to reduce the financial burden on the state and citizens, lower reliance on imports, and support Jordan’s climate commitments. JREEEF Executive Director Rasmi Hamza explained that the report was based on a comprehensive study of the fund’s programs and mechanisms for supporting renewable energy systems, as well as the adoption of energy-saving technologies and efficiency improvements across sectors. He added that the project included sending a Jordanian delegation to Korea to review the latest policies and technologies, including zero-energy buildings and safety procedures related to hydrogen gas use. Hamza noted that cooperation with Korea provided a valuable opportunity to benefit from leading international experiences and said the report offers practical recommendations to enhance fund programs in line with global best practices, ensuring sustainability and effective implementation. These efforts are part of supporting the Sustainable Development Goals and enhancing energy sector efficiency in Jordan, with a focus on active partnerships with the private sector, banks, and civil society organizations. Korean Ambassador to Jordan Kim Pil-woo praised the Ministry of Energy and the JREEEF for supporting sustainable energy programs, noting that the report provides an opportunity to strengthen Jordan-Korea cooperation in renewable energy and energy efficiency. KSP's Senior Advisor, Kim Hak-do, said the report offers an in-depth analysis of the fund’s programs and energy support policies in Jordan and proposes practical improvements based on Korean experience to promote economic development and ensure financial sustainability. He added that the project involved data collection and analysis in Jordan, as well as training programs for Jordanian officials in Korea, facilitating experience exchange and exploring future cooperation opportunities between the two countries. //Petra// AF
