4/ Minister Moves to Improve Services for Domestic, Foreign Labor
Amman, Sept. 15 (Petra) -- In a push to enhance efficiency and user satisfaction, Minister of Labor Khaled Al-Bakkar has initiated a comprehensive review of procedures at the departments handling domestic workers and non-Jordanian labor. According to a statement by Ministry spokesperson Mohammad Al-Zyoud, the Minister visited both directorates, listened to input from department heads, staff, and the public, and identified areas needing improvement. Following these visits, he formed two specialized committees, one for each directorate, to examine current processes and propose practical reforms. The committee overseeing domestic labor procedures will also work closely with the Association of Domestic Worker Recruitment Offices. This collaboration reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to engaging private sector partners, professional associations, and labor unions in shaping effective labor policies. Al-Zyoud emphasized that the primary goal is to simplify procedures, enhance service quality, and speed up transaction times, making the experience more efficient for all involved. Both committees are expected to deliver their findings and recommendations within two weeks. //Petra//WH
