35/ JPMC to Supply Coromandel 250,000 Tons Phosphoric Acid, Rising to 300,000

Aqaba, Sep. 11 (Petra) – Chairperson of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC), Mohammad Thneibat, met with Chairperson of India’s Coromandel International, Arun Alagappan, and CEO Sankara Subramanian to discuss avenues of cooperation between the two companies.

The discussions included the JPMC supplying Coromandel India with 500,000 tons of Jordanian phosphate annually starting in April 2026, and 250,000 tons of phosphoric acid annually beginning early next year, with a gradual increase to 300,000 tons by the end of 2027. The agreement is set to last ten years, reflecting confidence in the JPMC’s capabilities and its leading global position in the phosphate industry.

Thneibat welcomed the expansion of cooperation, expressing hope for a strategic partnership to establish fertilizer industries in Jordan to meet Coromandel’s needs and the markets it serves.

The meeting also explored mechanisms to supply phosphate fertilizers, particularly DAP, and develop joint projects that support the growth and expansion strategies of both companies.
