10/ Jordan Invited to Join International Water Organization
Amman, Sep. 11 (Petra) – Jordan has received an invitation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to join the International Water Organization, whose charter was recently signed in Riyadh as part of global efforts to address water challenges through a unified international framework. Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abu Saud expressed appreciation for the invitation during a meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Amman, Mohammed bin Hassan Mounes. The two officials discussed areas of cooperation and mechanisms to enhance collaboration in addressing water challenges. Abu Saud underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation to address water scarcity and climate-related pressures, highlighting the longstanding ties between the two countries. He also reviewed Jordan’s initiatives to tackle water challenges and climate change, noting Jordan’s commitment to share expertise with Arab partners, particularly Saudi Arabia, in water-related fields. Mounes stressed the depth of relations between the two countries under the guidance of their leaderships, adding that Jordan and Saudi Arabia represent a model of constructive cooperation among Arab nations, particularly in the water sector and other areas of mutual interest. //Petra// AJ
