6/ BAU, University Malaysia Kelantan Sign Research Cooperation Agreement
Salt, Sept. 10 (Petra) -- Al-Balqa Applied University (BAU) has signed a memorandum of understanding and a research cooperation agreement with University Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), marking a new phase of academic collaboration. The agreements were formalized during a virtual signing ceremony conducted through advanced virtual reality technology. The ceremony, which brought together academic and official representatives from both institutions, featured presentations on the profiles and missions of BAU and UMK. Ahmad Al-Ajlouni, President of Al-Balqa Applied University, underlined the strategic importance of the partnership, stressing that it reflects the universities’ shared conviction in the role of knowledge and research in addressing global challenges. He noted that the agreement will drive joint research initiatives in critical fields such as clean energy, healthcare, sustainable agriculture, and digital innovation, all of which support BAU’s mission to strengthen international partnerships that advance sustainable development. The Malaysian Ambassador to Amman, Mohammad Nasri bin Abdul Rahman, emphasized the significance of the collaboration in deepening academic and scientific ties between Jordan and Malaysia, while also broadening opportunities for joint research, academic exchange, and cross-border knowledge sharing. The agreements were signed within a three-dimensional virtual reality environment, followed by a virtual group photo and closing remarks. This pioneering approach demonstrates both universities’ ability to leverage cutting-edge technologies to build flexible, effective, and forward-looking international partnerships that transcend geographical boundaries. The agreements are expected to open new horizons for cooperation in research, academic program development, and joint scientific projects that will enhance the quality of higher education while contributing to community and regional development.
