Amman, Sept 9 (Petra) – Several countries and international organizations on Tuesday condemned an Israeli attack on Qatar, describing it as a serious escalation and a blatant violation of international law and state sovereignty.

Egypt expressed strong condemnation and deep denunciation of the aggressive action carried out by Israeli forces against Qatar, calling it a clear violation of international law, the principles of respect for state sovereignty, and the sanctity of its territory.

In a statement from the presidency, Egypt said the attack represented a dangerous precedent and an unacceptable development, describing it as a direct assault on Qatar’s sovereignty. Egypt highlighted Qatar’s pivotal role in mediation efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and said the escalation undermined international efforts to achieve calm and threatened security and stability in the entire region.

Egypt affirmed its full solidarity with Qatar, both leadership and people, and called on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities regarding this blatant Israeli violation, urging immediate action to halt the aggression and hold those responsible accountable to prevent it from joining Israel’s usual pattern of impunity.

Libya’s foreign ministry also strongly condemned the "immoral and criminal" Israeli aggression targeting Qatar. In a statement, Libya expressed full solidarity with Qatar’s leadership and people, affirming support for any measures Doha may take to protect its sovereignty and security and prevent such criminal acts and brutal attacks, describing them as irresponsible escalations.

The ministry warned of severe consequences if Israel continued its violations and blatant disregard for international law and accepted norms. It called on the international community, including the UN Security Council, to adopt a firm stance to deter such flagrant attacks and prevent their recurrence, which threatens regional security and stability.

The Muslim World League (MWL) condemned the attack by Israeli forces on Qatar. Secretary-General Mohammed Al-Issa described it as a "barbaric approach pursued by the Israeli occupation government in violating state sovereignty and breaching all international laws and norms," urging the international community to take immediate and firm measures against these criminal acts.

Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi strongly denounced the aggressive attacks carried out by Israel against Qatar, calling them a flagrant and unacceptable violation of Qatari sovereignty and a blatant breach of the UN Charter and international laws and norms.

In a statement, Al-Yamahi described the crime as a direct threat to Arab national security and regional and international stability, stressing the full solidarity of the Arab Parliament with Qatar’s leadership, government, and people in confronting this treacherous aggression. He urged the international community and the UN Security Council to assume their legal and moral responsibilities to halt repeated Israeli attacks on state sovereignty and hold Israel accountable for its crimes, warning that continued aggressive policies could escalate the situation and ignite unrest across the region.

He called for urgent international action to deter Israel, which is acting outside all international laws and norms, to halt all violations and take decisive measures to protect state sovereignty and the security of their peoples.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk condemned the "blatant attack" by Israel on Qatar. In a post on the X platform, Turk highlighted Qatar’s pivotal role in mediation efforts to end the ongoing war in Gaza, stressing that "such violence undermines peace efforts at a time when killing and suffering continue, further fueling fires across the region."

French President Emmanuel Macron also denounced the Israeli strike on a residential complex in Doha, saying the attack was unacceptable regardless of its motive. In a post on X, Macron said, "The war must not extend to the region under any circumstances," expressing solidarity with Qatar.

Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev condemned the Israeli attack on Qatar, stating in a release via the Kazakh news agency that "this military action, regardless of its motives, constitutes a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and contradicts the principles of international law."

Turkiye’s foreign ministry condemned the Israeli strike on a residential building in Doha. According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry said in a statement that "this attack adds Qatar a mediator in ceasefire negotiations to Israel’s list of targeted countries in the region," describing it as clear evidence of Israel’s expansionist policies and its adoption of terrorism as state policy.

The statement added that Turkiye stands with Qatar "against this despicable attack targeting its sovereignty and security" and renewed its call for the international community to pressure Israel to halt its ongoing aggression in Palestine and the region.

Uzbekistan condemned the Israeli strike on a residential building in Doha, describing it as a violation of sovereignty and an assault on Qatar’s territorial integrity and security. In a statement, Uzbekistan said such acts are unacceptable and constitute a serious disregard for the UN Charter and fundamental principles of international law. The statement noted Uzbekistan’s longstanding opposition to any use of force in international relations, which exacerbates an already complex situation in the Middle East.

Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov condemned the Israeli attack on Qatar. Presidential spokesman Eskat Alaguzov said in a statement that "these acts violate the principles of international law and the UN Charter and harm Qatar’s regional stability and sovereignty."
