Amman, September 9 (Petra) – Environment Minister Ayman Suleiman met on Monday with Japanese Ambassador Asari Hideki to discuss environmental cooperation.

The meeting discussed the strong Jordanian-Japanese relations and Suleiman and Hideki expressed commitment to deepening collaboration on key environmental priorities.

Suleiman expressed appreciation for Japan’s continued support in the environmental sector, urging incorporating this support into environmental management programmes, particularly in advancing the green cities initiative and improving waste management systems.

He highlighted that the ongoing cooperation reflects Jordan's dedication to environmental sustainability and its intention to leverage Japan's advanced expertise to further protect the environment and support national sustainable development efforts.

Hideki, in turn, expressed Japan's pride in its close ties with Jordan and affirmed his country's readiness to continue providing technical and technological assistance.

He said that his country's cooperation with Jordan serves the mutual interests of both nations and contributes to addressing global environmental challenges.

The meeting was attended by Jihad Sawaeer, the Minister's Advisor for Technical and International Affairs.
