16/ Jordan, Tunisia Hold Talks on Industrial Cities Cooperation

Amman, Sept. 9 (Petra) – The fifth meeting of the Jordanian-Tunisian Technical Committee on Industrial Cities kicked off Tuesday at the Jordan Industrial Estates Company (JIEC).

The meeting, co-chaired by the JIEC General Manager Omar Juwaid and CEO of Tunisia’s Industrial Land Agency Kais Mejri, was attended by Tunisian Deputy Ambassador to Amman Mohamed Ali Benhabib.

According to a JIEC statement, Juwaid said the meeting aims to boost cooperation in planning, promotion, infrastructure, and digital transformation, while exploring ways to attract investments and improve the investment climate. He noted that the JIEC manages nine industrial cities, including the Zarqa Industrial Estate project, expected to open by the end of this year as a model smart city.

Mejri praised Jordan’s progress in developing and managing industrial cities, highlighting opportunities to exchange expertise.

The Tunisian delegation also reviewed investment opportunities, visited the Jordanian Businessmen Association, and is scheduled to tour chambers of industry, industrial cities, and factories.
