13/ Army Chief, Islamic Coalition Official Discuss Counter-terrorism Cooperation
Amman, Sep. 9 (Petra) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Tuesday received Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition Maj. Gen. Pilot Mohammed bin Saeed Moghedi and his accompanying delegation at the General Command. The meeting, attended by senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces, reviewed frameworks of military and security cooperation between the Jordan Armed Forces and the coalition, with a focus on training, coordination, and knowledge exchange to enhance capabilities in addressing security and terrorist threats. Huneiti underlined that Jordan maintains a firm and unwavering stance against terrorism and extremism in all forms, stressing the Armed Forces’ pivotal role in safeguarding society, protecting national security, and preserving regional stability. He highlighted that the Jordan Armed Forces continue to address terrorism on military, security, intellectual, and media fronts, noting the sacrifices made by its personnel in defense of the nation and the region. For his part, Moghedi praised the Jordan Armed Forces’ efforts in countering terrorism and extremism, underscoring Jordan’s role as a strategic partner and an active contributor within the coalition.
