45/ Environment Minister Voices Support for Environmental Initiatives, Partnership with American Academy Jordan

Amman, Sept 8 (Petra) – Minister of Environment Ayman Suleiman on Monday met with Nabil Al-Far, founder and CEO of the American Academy Jordan, at the ministry headquarters to review the academy’s future projects and explore avenues for partnership, support, and participation in upcoming initiatives.

Suleiman expressed appreciation for the academy’s efforts over the past year and emphasized the ministry’s interest in strengthening collaboration with this initiative and similar projects across Jordan to support environmental work and expand community engagement.

Al-Far, accompanied by American educator and international specialist Nastinka Morgan, said environmental protection is both a national duty and a shared responsibility.

He highlighted the academy’s 18-year record of community initiatives, including street and public space clean-ups and tree planting campaigns involving faculty and students, noting that over 5,000 trees have been planted to date, with a plan to increase the total to 100,000.

Morgan detailed a new environmental project focused on waste sorting, recycling, and scientific utilization, emphasizing the academy’s goal to involve local communities in its programs.

She added that support from the Environment Ministry provides significant motivation to expand such initiatives throughout the kingdom.
