Amman, Sep. 8 (Petra) – Minister of Public Works and Housing Maher Abu Samen on Monday conducted a field tour to follow up on the progress of the Ma’an Military Hospital project and the outpatient clinics and blood bank building at Ma’an Government Hospital. At the Ma’an Military Hospital site, Abu Samen, accompanied by Ma’an Governor Khaled Hajjaj and Director of the Royal Medical Services Brigadier General Sahl Hamouri, reviewed progress on the project, which has reached 82 percent completion. The hospital, a royal grant, is being constructed on an area of approximately 30,000 square meters, with a capacity of 150 beds across four floors and two basement levels, at a total cost of JD 35 million. The minister underscored the strategic importance of the facility, stressing that Ma’an Governorate is in urgent need of this integrated medical center to enhance healthcare services for citizens and armed forces personnel in the region. He directed relevant authorities and the supervising consultant to strictly adhere to the timetable, warning that delays would hinder service provision, and instructed the activation of contractual procedures to ensure timely completion. In the same context, Abu Samen inspected the outpatient clinics and blood bank project at Ma’an Government Hospital, which is being implemented by the ministry at an estimated cost of JD 3.5 million. The project, now 77 percent complete, covers 5,154 square meters and consists of two floors. It will provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services, including specialized clinics in cardiology, urology, ophthalmology, gynecology, pediatrics, dermatology, and audiology, in addition to medical laboratories, a regional blood bank, and radiology units for general, panoramic, and ultrasound imaging. //Petra// AJ
