34/ Minister stresses importance of developing youth ministry, centers' administrative structure

Amman, Sept 7 (Petra) – Minister of Youth Raed Adwan and Minister of State for Public Sector Development Badria Al Balbisi discussed mechanisms to enhance the performance of the Ministry of Youth and its affiliated youth centers across the country during a meeting on Sunday.

The meeting comes in response to directives from the Prime Minister to implement a comprehensive project to restructure the ministry, which includes reviewing the current situation, evaluating human resources, and revising the ministry’s organizational structure.

Adwan said that updating the administrative structure of the ministry and its youth centers is imperative in light of the development of strategic and operational plans, particularly concerning the improvement of youth centers and the programs and projects implemented across all directorates.

He added that the initiative will enable the ministry to fulfill its assigned tasks, clarify the responsibilities of administrative units, and enhance the quality of services provided to young people. He noted that the project reflects the public sector modernization roadmap and its executive plan.

Al Balbisi stated that the public sector modernization roadmap goes beyond traditional restructuring, which typically focuses on revising organizational units, their tasks, and staffing allocations. Instead, it emphasizes strategic directions, future operational models, and the design of organizational structures and human resources plans in line with these strategies. The goal is to create a flexible structure responsive to the ministry’s requirements, strengthen its capacity to achieve objectives, and develop staff capabilities for youth engagement.

She stressed the importance of collaboration between the Ministry of Youth and the Service and Public Administration Commission (SPAC) in executing the project, which could serve as a model for restructuring all government ministries and departments.

SPAC president Fayez Nahar said the commission would provide the necessary technical and advisory support to ensure the project meets the highest quality standards while maintaining its oversight role, enhancing the ministry’s ability to serve Jordanian youth effectively.
