12/ Israeli war on Gaza in its 700th day

Gaza, Sept 6 (Petra) – The Israeli war of genocide against the civilian population in the Gaza Strip entered its 700th day Saturday, marking "an unprecedented" atrocity in modern history, the Government Media Office in Gaza said.

The war resulted in the near-total destruction of 90 percent of the infrastructure, and initial losses exceeding $68 billion, with the occupation (army) controlling more than 80 percent of the Strip by military force and coercive displacement, it said in a statement.

The occupation army carried out massacres that resulted in the killing and disappearance of 73,731 people, including more than 20,000 children and 12,500 women, it said.

It also wiped out 2,700 families from the civil registry, and killed 1,670 medical staff, 248 journalists, 139 civil defense members, and 173 municipal employees. More than 162,000 people were wounded, including thousands of amputations, paralysis, and loss of sight, it said.

The office said 38 hospitals, 833 mosques, and 163 educational institutions were completely destroyed, as well as thousands of other institutions severely damaged.

Israel also carried out a systematic starvation policy through a comprehensive blockade of the civilian population, barring the entry of hundreds of thousands of food and aid trucks, causing a humanitarian catastrophe that threatened the lives of more than 2.4 million people, including more than one million children who are on the brink of starvation, said the office.

The Israeli occupation army issued evacuation orders for residents of residential blocks west of Gaza City, giving an urgent warning to residents of Blocks 783, 784, 688, and 690 to leave in stepped up military operations, it said.
