14/ Amman Commerce Chamber, Rwanda discuss boosting trade cooperation
Amman, Oct. 28 (Petra) – First Vice President of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC), Nabil Khatib, met on Tuesday with Rwandan Ambassador to Jordan James Ngango to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in economic and trade fields, and exploring both countries' avialble investment opportunities. According to an ACC statement, Khatib said the meeting follows up on the outcomes of the Jordanian delegation’s visit to Rwanda last October, led by Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah and attended by private sector representatives. The visit included meetings of the Joint Trade and Investment Committee and the Jordanian-Rwandan Business Forum. Khatib noted talks with the Rwandan ambassador mark a "practical step" to expand economic, trade, and investment cooperation, calling for organizing specialized exhibitions and exchanging mutual trade delegations. Khatib also emphasized the Jordanian commercial and services sectors’ commitment to developing relations with Rwanda across various fields, especially amid current regional and international challenges that require enhanced cooperation to sustain growth. Khatib added that the Rwandan ambassador proposed organizing a joint business forum on November 13 in Amman, in cooperation with the Rwandan Embassy and relevant Jordanian public and private sector entities. The event will prepare the groundwork for the next session of the Jordanian-Rwandan Joint Committee, scheduled to be held in Amman in March 2026. For his part, Ambassador Ngango affirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Jordan and opening new avenues for cooperation that benefit both nations. The diplomat said the proposed forum would serve as a "key" platform for dialogue between business communities, enabling exploration of joint investment opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, services, and technology. The event will also aim to enhance trade exchange and facilitate direct coordination between institutions, paving the way for future cooperation agreements. //Petra// NQ
