Amman, October 28 (Petra) - Statistical data from the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) showed that industrial sector exports grew by 7.5% during the 1st 8 months 2025.

The data indicated that Jordan's industrial sector exports increased during the January-August period of this year to JD5.565 billion, compared to JD5.177 billion during the same period last year, constituting 91% of total national exports.

During the same period, national exports amounted to JD6.098 billion, marking an 8% growth rate compared to 2024.

This growth is due to reduction of the Kingdom's trade deficit and increasing contribution of industry to the national economy.

Data prepared by the JCI's Studies and Policies Department showed growth in 9 sub-industrial sectors during the same period, with the exception of the wood and furniture industries, which declined by 11.2%, while the construction industries sector experienced the highest growth by 77.6%.

Exports focused on the chemical and cosmetics industries, valued at JD1.237 billion, leather and textiles at JD1.195 billion, engineering and electrical industries at JD1.036 billion, mining at JD751 million and food and supplies at JD590 million.

Additionally, exports of therapeutic industries and medical supplies reached JD399 million, plastics and rubber stood at JD123 million, construction at JD116 million, packaging and paper at JD94 million and finally, wood and furniture industries at JD24 million.

Industrial exports also went up to several foreign and Arab countries, mainly Saudi Arabia, India, Iraq, Syria, Italy, Ethiopia, Serbia, and Djibouti, respectively, by export value.
