33/ Senate Health Committee reviews sector strategy
Amman, Oct 15 (Petra) – The Senate Health, Environment and Population Committee, chaired by Senator Yassin Husban, reviewed the health sector's revamp strategy in line with national priorities and the Economic Modernization Vision. The review aims to support efforts to build an integrated, measurable, and evaluable health system with an impact on citizens' health, and enhance the resilience and sustainability of the national health system within an integrated, comprehensive vision, said Husban, a former health minister. He pointed to proposals to chart a "clear implementation roadmap to unify the directions and components" of the health system, raise the level of health services, and improve the quality of healthcare. "This could be achieved through adopting clear mechanisms for measurement, follow-up, and evaluation, ensuring that resources and capabilities are devoted to achieving realistic and tangible results, he pointed out. Committee members called for promoting digital transformation in the healthcare sector, improving the quality of services in hospitals and healthcare centers, and developing the capacities of medical and nursing staff, in line with the Economic Modernization Vision and the National Human Resources Plan. //Petra//SS
