32/ Army Chief Meets Kuwaiti counterpart to Discuss Military Cooperation
Amman, Nov. 27 (Petra)-- Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Al-Huneiti met on Thursday with Chief of the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army Lt. Gen. Khaled Derraj Al-Sharia'an at the Kuwaiti Army General Staff headquarters. Maj. Gen. Al-Huneiti received a formal military welcome, during which he reviewed the honor guard lined up to greet him. During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance military and defense cooperation between the Jordanian and Kuwaiti armed forces, as well as efforts to strengthen joint coordination in addressing current regional challenges. Maj. Gen. Al-Huneiti emphasized the importance of advancing the strategic partnership in a way that supports shared visions and goals, praising the strong bilateral relations between the leaderships of the two brotherly countries and their role in promoting regional security and stability. For his part, Lt. Gen. Al-Shariaan affirmed the Kuwaiti Army’s keenness to expand avenues of military cooperation with the Jordanian Armed Forces, particularly in developing defense capabilities and boosting joint coordination. Al-Huneiti also visited the Mubarak Al-Abdullah Joint Command and Staff College, where he received a briefing on the academic programs offered by the institution and its role in preparing and qualifying military leaders, in addition to its training programs aimed at strengthening leadership skills and enhancing officers’ operational efficiency. The visit was attended by the Jordanian ambassador and military attaché in Kuwait, several members of the Kuwaiti Military Defense Council, and senior officers from both the Jordanian and Kuwaiti armed forces. //Petra// MF
