Ramallah, Nov 23 (Petra) – A Palestinian man was shot dead by Israeli forces on Sunday evening in the village of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah in the central West Bank, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

Fathi Hamdan, head of the Deir Jarir village council, said the resident was killed during an attack carried out jointly by settlers and Israeli forces in the area.

He said an armed group of settlers assaulted several Palestinian homes on the outskirts of the village, while Israeli soldiers stormed the scene to provide them with protection.

According to Hamdan, settlers and soldiers opened fire on villagers who attempted to repel the raid, hitting one resident in the chest. He was first taken to an emergency clinic in the nearby town of Silwad before being transferred to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah, where he was pronounced dead.
