29/ Police arrest drug dealers in different governorates
Amman, November 23 (Petra) – The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) officers arrested 13 drug dealers and smugglers across various governorates, and large quantities of narcotics were seized. The Public Security Directorate (PSD) stated that one of the most prominent cases involved the raid and arrest of a dangerous drug dealer in the central desert region. The suspect was apprehended with 6 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 7,000 narcotic pills. In a separate case in the same area, another highly dangerous and armed dealer was arrested, and officers seized 23 slabs of hashish and 1 kg of crystal methamphetamine. In the eastern part of Amman, two cases were handled. In the first, a dealer was arrested following a raid, where officers seized 1 kg of cocaine, 34 slabs of hashish and two firearms. In the second case, 30 slabs of hashish were confiscated from three individuals who were distributing the drugs to dealers in the area. In the southern part of Amman, two drug dealers were arrested, and 1.5 kg of marijuana, 1,000 narcotic pills and five slabs of hashish were seized. At the Jaber border crossing, and in cooperation with Jordanian Customs and other security agencies, two drug smuggling attempts were thwarted. In the first case, two individuals were caught trying to smuggle 215,000 narcotic pills in hidden compartments inside a cargo vehicle.
