Amman, May 10 (Petra) - Eastern Military Zone troops Saturday foiled an attempt to smuggle in drugs using a drone, an official military source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army said.

"Border Guard Forces in the Eastern Military Region, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, detected a drone attempting to illegally cross the border. It was intercepted, jammed, and its load dropped," it said. The items seized were referred to relevant authorities, it added.

The source reiterated that the armed forces are using full force and all resources to confront such attempts and stop border infiltrations and smuggling to safeguard the Kingdom's security and stability.
