27/ CPF launches 2025 School Athletics Championship
Amman, May 8 (Petra) – Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) announced launch of the 1st edition of "2025 School Athletics Championship," as part of its Sustainable Community Development Program. The competitions are held, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Jordan Athletics Federation. According to a CPF statement, the championship targets Jordan's public school students from grades 6-12 and focuses on racing contests. The CPF noted the event aims to enhance Jordan's student engagement and support discovery and development of athletic talent across the Kingdom's governorates. Scheduled to see qualifiers within schools, competitions will be then held at district and regional levels, leading to the final rounds set to be organized at the ministry level in Amman next September, the statement pointed out. The CPF stated the races vary according to age group and grade level, taking into account the physical abilities of each stage. The tournament represents a "strategic" step aimed at disseminating culture of school athletics and enhancing its role in supporting physical fitness and mental health. On other goals, the event seeks to develop school sports, build a base of young athletes, and instill values ??of self-confidence, discipline, and team spirit.
