42/ Arab Bank volunteers plant 400 oak trees in Ajloun Forest Reserve

Amman, May 7 (Petra) – The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), in collaboration with Arab Bank, planted 400 oak trees in the Ajloun Forest Reserve as part of a community initiative under the bank’s corporate social responsibility program, "Together."

The campaign, which included participation from Arab Bank volunteers and their families, aimed to expand Jordan’s green cover and mitigate the effects of climate change on biodiversity and sustainability within the reserve. Activities included soil preparation, tree planting, watering, and land coordination.

RSCN Director General Fadi Nasser said the campaign promotes environmental awareness and encourages public engagement with nature preservation efforts in Jordan. He praised Arab Bank’s support, highlighting the role of such initiatives in protecting forest resources and raising awareness about environmental conservation.

Established in 1987, the Ajloun Forest Reserve spans 12 square kilometers in Jordan’s Mediterranean Highlands. It features winding valleys and elevations ranging from 600 to 1,100 meters above sea level and is home to evergreen oak forests, a key component of Jordan’s woodland ecosystem.

Arab Bank’s support reflects its sustainability strategy aimed at enhancing economic, social, and environmental impact. The "Together" program promotes initiatives in health, poverty alleviation, environmental protection, education, orphan care, and women’s empowerment.
