33/ 25 killed in Israeli air strike on crowded Gaza restaurant
Gaza, May 7 (Petra) – Twenty-five Palestinians were killed and dozens injured Wednesday afternoon when Israeli aircraft bombed a crowded restaurant in the Al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City, medical sources said. That raised to 61 the day's death toll from stepped up Israeli strikes since dawn, they said. The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip said the occupation forces carried out four massacres in the last 24 hours, the latest of which was the bombing of the Thai restaurant in Al Rimal. Earlier, two schools housing displaced people were bombed leaving dozens of civilians killed or wounded. It said the Israeli forces were targeting restaurants, schools, and shelters with the intent to inflict the largest possible number of casualties, which is "a war crime and an extension of the genocidal war being perpetrated against the Palestinian people." The statement held Israel fully responsible for these crimes, calling on the international community to take immediate action to stop them, provide protection to civilians, and hold it to account for the crimes before international courts. //Petra//SS
