24/ Jordanian-Saudi Parliamentary Committee Discusses Future Cooperation, Coordination

Amman, May 7 (Petra) – The Jordanian-Saudi Parliamentary Brotherhood Committee, chaired by MP Abdul Basit Kabariti, held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the committee’s working mechanism and future organizational arrangements aimed at enhancing parliamentary ties between the two countries.

Kabariti highlighted the committee’s vital role in reinforcing cooperation between the Jordanian Lower House of Parliament and the Saudi Shura Council. He underscored that parliamentary coordination remains an essential component of the strategic partnership between Jordan and Saudi Arabia across various fields, particularly at the legislative level.

He stressed the importance of establishing a structured work plan based on regular communication with the Saudi counterpart and broadening the scope of joint initiatives to reflect the deep-rooted, historic ties between the leaderships and peoples of the two nations.

Kabariti also emphasized the committee’s role as an active channel of communication for addressing mutual concerns in regional and international forums.

Committee members echoed the call for sustained consultation and coordination with Saudi Arabia. They emphasized the importance of consolidating relations on solid, enduring foundations.

The members further stressed the need to strengthen communication channels with the Saudi Shura Council, explore new initiatives to enhance parliamentary and cultural exchange, and support both countries’ efforts in addressing shared challenges.
