Amman, May 7 (Petra) – Jordan took part in the 29th session of the General Assembly of the Arab Union for Veterans and War Victims, held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, during May 4- 6.

According to a statement issued by the Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans (ESARSV) on Wednesday, Jordan was represented by the association's Director General, retired Maj. Gen Adnan Ahmed Raqad.

Discussions focused on ways to enhance pan-Arab cooperation and exchange expertise in the support programs provided for retired military servicemen and veterans, aimed to improve the level of services for beneficiaries.

The two-day event also went over a slew of issues related to the veterans' affairs in member states, mainly health and social care programs, vocational and psychological rehabilitation, as well as reviewing several Arab experiences in this field.

The statement said discussions come as part of the Arab union's efforts to coordinate policies and unify visions among member states, enhance veterans' post-service contribution to serve their communities.
